Before: what you give it

The example input, as typed in. You paste text, CSS, markup or notes.

<html><head><style>.cta{color:#fff}</style></head><body>
<table width="680"><tr><td style="font-size:11px;color:#999999;background-color:#ffffff">Spring sale. 20% off everything this week only for members of the club.</td></tr>
<tr><td><img src="https://example.com/hero-banner.jpg" width="680"></td></tr>
<tr><td style="font-size:16px;color:#777777"><a href="https://example.com/sale">Click here</a> to shop. <a href="https://example.com/new">Click here</a> for new arrivals.</td></tr>
...

After: what comes back

The first lines of a real run on that input. Nothing here is edited by hand.

Email accessibility: 14 findings (2 high, 5 medium, 6 low, 1 note).
Read 1 images, 3 links, 1 tables, about 23 words of text.

[HIGH] WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content (A): 1 image has no alt attribute
With no alt attribute at all, many screen readers read out the file name or URL. A decorative image needs alt="" and an informative one needs a description.
  Seen in: https://example.com/hero-banner.jpg
Fix: Add alt text that carries the same information as the image. For decoration, spacers and dividers, add alt="".

[HIGH] WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) (AA): 3 inline colour pairs fall below contrast minimums
Computed from inline color and background-color (or bgcolor) on the element or its nearest ancestor with a background. Where no background was set, white was assumed, which email clients in dark mode may not match. Colours set in <style> classes are not resolved.
  Seen in: #999999 on #ffffff = 2.85:1 (needs 4.5) | #ffffff on #ff3d81 = 3.37:1 (needs 4.5) | #777777 on #ffffff = 4.48:1 (needs 4.5) assumed white
Fix: Darken the text or lighten the background until body text reaches 4.5:1 (3:1 for text 24px or 18.66px bold).

What you get

Findings ranked high to note, each with its WCAG criterion, the markup involved and a fix

What it cannot do

Reads markup only; colours set in style classes are not resolved and it does not render the email or check a plain-text version.
